I enjoy working from old photographs and like to play about with both traditional and digital methods within one piece of work.  These pieces were inspired by old B&W photos of my childhood in the 60s.  I scanned the photos, played about with them in Photoshop and then, with that as a reference, used an ink pen and oil pastels (washed with white spirit) to create a colour version on paper or canvas. I then re-scanned my work and messed about with a bit more in Photoshop, cropping the composition and intensifiying and changing the colours, contrast etc.  I find it interesting to make a new image from an old image using both traditional and contemporary techniques.
