WELCOME TO THE ONLINE PORTFOLIO OF TRACEY EDGES

Here you will find some examples of how I like to work creatively, my qualifications and a few of my favourite things.

I like working in different styles, with different media, and I often take photographs and then use my computer like an electronic sketchbook to play with different compositions, colours, crops, overlays etc.

I enjoy working to a specific brief. First you get the "What-on-earth-can-I-do-with-that?" panic, rapidly followed by the "Light-bulb-being-switched-on" moment when the ideas start rushing through your head.  I enjoy doing the research about the specific subject especially finding out facts about subjects you would never normally come into inquisitive contact with, while also brainstorming and sketching out initial ideas.

Basically, I enjoy enjoying what I am doing!

In 2010 I was offered a shared studio space at  ABBEY WALK GALLERY, GRIMSBY  where I am able to work on my paintings and display my work, both permanently in my studio and also in Gallery 2 (upstairs).  All displayed work is available to purchase from the Gallery.

As part of the ABBEY WALK ARTISTS GROUP I have participated in joint exhibitions and events as well as having had an individual introductory event (see poster below).
